We are scientists, mathematicians, writers, and teachers!

We are thrilled to be back in our spring uniforms after a restful Spring Break! We continue to learn about measurement as our plants grow taller. It was so exciting to find a few buds beginning to open up as the weather begins to get warmer. We have enjoyed taking pictures of the growing plants and, just like real scientists, we are learning to draw what we see in the picture. We are making observations and predicting what the plants will be once they bloom. We also measure our plant each time we observe it so that we can see how tall it grows. They seem to grow and change as fast as we do!

Inside the classroom we have practiced measuring our bodies with sticks, inchworms, chains, and even our own feet!

We are continuing to learn new words families. Our focus this week is on the -ug family. We learned about insects, made ladybug hats, and created a new page for our word family book.

These girls always love an opportunity to be the teacher! Today we spent our math time teaching each other some games we have learned to help reinforce our math skills.

Happy Spring!

Updates from Tech

This month the girls have been working in the My Story app.  Students created an island and a map in art then created a book about this island.  The book included pictures of the island as well as the map and information about the people, animals, and interesting facts about the island.  Students were also given the opportunity to record themselves reading the story.
