Chinese New Year!

We had a special guest visit our classroom today to talk about the Chinese New Year.  She taught us some Chinese characters and how to sing a song in Chinese!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2017!

Winter has officially arrived in kindergarten! We made snowmen and labeled the parts on our big classroom snowman! Let it snow! Let is snow! Let it snow!

We have been busy learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy through the song "Rise Up"

We also talked about how people may look different on the outside, but inside we are all the same. Miss Waters brought in eggs from her chickens, one blue and one brown. We discussed how they are different colors on the outside. After we cracked them, we discovered the yolks on the inside looked the same! This activity helped us understand Dr. King's message even better!

In Language Arts we have been about learning word families!

Finally, in math, we used marshmallows in hot chocolate to solve some addition problems! Mrs. Martin and Miss Waters even let us eat some of the marshmallows at the end of the class!
