WINTER CONCERT

Come one, come all!

Please join us for the Winter Concert for students in grades K-2 next Friday, December 16!  The concert begins at 8:30 am and will end by around 9:10.

Each and every student participates in this performance!  The Kindergarten girls will be on the risers on the floor on the left side of the stage as you are facing it.

Attire for the concert is as follows:
• Split top uniform, skort, jumper, or gray pants
• Dark green or gray tights or knee socks (no leggings or white socks)
• White long sleeve turtleneck or polo shirt (no sweaters – the girls will be warm enough under the bright lights!)

See you there!

Kindergarten and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra!

The Kindergarten and Pre-First girls enjoyed a wonderful concert by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra!  In this winter-themed program, the featured piece was a viewing of The Snowman movie with live orchestra accompaniment.  We were sitting in the third row, which gave us an incredible view of the 10 year old violin soloist for the Allegro in the Winter section of The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.  She was inspiring!

THE GREATNESS OF GRATITUDE

November was a month of gratefulness, gratitude and peace.

Tomie de Paola's
book
Look and be Grateful
Taught us to open our eyes and look at the many reasons to be grateful.

WE TALKED ABOUT WHAT PEACE MEANT TO US.
Later recorded in our Storybooks our thoughts.

Ask me to sing our song of Peace
we shared on  Our  Grandparents and Special Friends Day !

PEACE
Peace is the world smiling
Peace is the gentle dove
Peace is sharing
Peace is caring
Peace is filling the world with love.

Having our Grandparents and special friends come to our room was a wonderful moment.
Enjoy what make us so thankful !

We are grateful you are each part of our Bryn Mawr Family!

GIVE THANKS!

Art_Quilts and More Quilts!!!

The paper quilts turned out great! Hours of work typically yields great results in the art studio!

Now the girls are making mini fabric quilts. They are selecting fabric palettes, tracing wooden blocks, and cutting various shapes to piece together.

French: Visit from the Upper School French students

This week is national French week and we celebrated by having two French classes from the Upper School come and visit.  On Wednesday, a French 1 class came to visit Ms. Mawhiney's class.  The Kindergarten girls sang several songs for the big kids and then the big kids led a multilingual version of Frère Jaques with English, French, and even Chinese.  On Thursday, the French 4 class came to visit Mrs. Martin's class.  The Kindergarten girls taught them a few French songs and then the big kids read French children's books to the Kindergarteners.   Everyone really enjoyed this special opportunity.

Fall Exploration and Fun!

Our Fall Season EMERGED with Babies and Butterflies !

WELCOME TO THE WORLD!

All Nine Monarch Butterflies migrated to Mexico!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR EXPANDING BRYN MAWR FAMILY!

October 31st welcomed princesses, pirates, and many magical characters.

Learning adding and subtracting through our "Five Little Pumpkin" song.

We loved learning about parallel lines when we made our pumpkin Jack o lanterns!

A favorite time of the week is when we spend time with our Third Grade Readers.

We predicted through a riddle :

What is round and shiny
It does not have windows
It does not have doors
It has a star inside.
What is it?

Please ask me and I will show you!

We are excited to be SCIENTIST!
Our leaf exploration took us to the Owl Gate to gather
Maple, Oak and Dogwood leaves.

We were surprised that the bark was different on each tree.

After reading Yellow Time by Lauren Stringer
We decided to press the leaves we collected
on our walk just like the little girl in the story.
We were able to separate and identify
Maple, Oak and Dogwood leaves.

Acting out our Fall poems is such fun!
Outside.

Inside.

In math we learned the world is filled with symmetrical things.

Wow, symmetrical trees are beautiful.

Each tree we made, is, as special and unique as we are.

EACH DAY IS FILLED WITH NEW EXCITEMENT!
