Art: Circles & Ideas

The girls started their first big work of art with circles.  They traced circles from objects all over the studio onto their papers considering the 4 compositional possibilities: floating, touching, overlapping, and inside each other.

Then, we read What Do You Do With an Idea? about a boy who has an idea and learns how to nurture it and play with it until the idea is big enough to share with the world.  We now refer to the circles on the girls papers as "ideas" and will fill them all up with a variety of materials and techniques.
