Art: Mindfulness Painting

The girls are filling in all the white space of the circle paintings with different techniques and materials.  One new way they tried is called "mindfulness painting".  The girls painted around all of their circles with the same color. Then, they switched colors and painted around the circles again. When two circles touched, they had a new shape.  Eventually, all the circles were connected and we likened that to the experience of everyone in the class working and playing together. Mindfulness is one of our core values at Bryn Mawr lower school and the girls come to understand it as the way our feelings and actions affect us and others around us.
