Art: Little Dancers

Kindergarten has been looking at painting and sculpture by Degas, and working on two ways of drawing dance poses: from observation and from the feeling of movement. In small groups, girls took turns posing wooden figure dolls and drew what they saw using pencil. They drew several poses on the same page to create a dance. Next, girls chose their own pose and painted how they felt their bodies moving from top to bottom.
