Welcome Back!

We are back in full swing after our two week break and it seems as if these girls have grown by leaps and bounds! They are truly kindergarteners now and it is such fun to see them grow more confident by the day.

Last week we continued our Jan Brett author study with an in-depth look at The Mitten. We read the story, talked about the characters, made predictions, and retold the story we had heard. We could not stop laughing after the bear sneezes and sends the animals flying through the air! Each girl created her own mitten to hold the characters from the story. Ask your daughter to retell the story for you when she brings home her mitten!

In math we have been learning about separation stories. We acted them out, played some games, and even had the opportunity to eat math!

This week we learned all about Martin Luther King, Jr. Through stories and songs we learned about his dream and how he wanted every person to be treated equal. The girls shared some wonderful ideas about what it means to be equal. They even remembered that Mary Garrett, one of Bryn Mawr's founders, also wanted equality - this time for boys and girls in education! Your daughters impress us every day!

We may be different on the outside, but we are all the same on the inside!
