We have been busy reading about gingerbread men, babies, friends, and girls. These stories begin our unit on author Jan Brett. We are observing Brett's beautifully detailed illustrations as she teaches us about setting, characters, plot, and especially making predictions. Jan Brett's The Gingerbread Baby and Gingerbread Friends gave us the perfect examples for creating our own gingerbread girls this morning. What fun we had decorating our cookies and creating two gingerbread houses! Our classroom smells like a candy factory! A huge thank you to the parents who helped us this morning. We could not have done it without you!
