Kindergarten has been reading some great books about
friendship in Library. We started off with Elmer
by David McKee, and continued with Elmer’s
Special Day. Ask your daughter how Elmer is alike and different from the
other elephants and how his friends feel about him. We’ve also read two newer books, Looking for Bongo and Excellent Ed. Ed lives with a human family in which
everyone is excellent at something and Ed figures out his strength. Right now we are well into James Marshall’s
series George and Martha. Each book has five short stories about two great
friends. George and Martha have been
around for a long time, and they remain beloved characters.
